How to Apply

General

Ensure surfaces to be painted are clean, dry and free of contamination, in hot and windy conditions or when painting very absorbent surfaces, dampen the surface with water before painting.

Fill surface defects with suitable filler or sealsnt. Surface must be clean, dry and free from all dirt, dust, grease, oil, rust and any other surface contamination.

Previously Painted Surfaces Remove loose and flaking paint and sand surface thoroughly. On aged enamel use Taubmans 3 in 1 for intercoat adhesion. Treat bare areas as for new work.
New Work/ Unpainted Suraces

Timber - Sand weathered (greyed) timber to the original timber surface. Tannin rich timbers should be primed with Taubmans Prep Right Wood Primer or Taubmans 3 in 1.

Galvanised Iron - Degrease new surfaces, thoroughly clean weathered surfaces to ensure adhesion. For structural galvanized iron, abrade with 240# paper to remove chemical treatments. If red dust is present, treat as for steel.

Cement Render/Concrete - Allow concrete, cement render and mortar to cure for 28 days before painting.

Steel - Remove rust and primse with Taubmans PrepRight Iron and Stee Primer.

Before Painting Confirm colour before use. Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid painting in direct sun or windy conditions. Dampen highly absorbent surfaces. Disconnect drinking water pipes before painting roofs, reconnect after first rain.
Application Apply using a brush, roller or spray. Use two generous coats and three on unpainted surfaces.
New Work

Timber - Weathered (greyed) timber must be sanded to original timber surface. Tannin rich timbers such as cedar should be primed with Taubmans Prep Right Wood Primer or Taubmans 3 in 1.

Galvanised Iron - Thoroughly degrease new surfaces. Weatheres surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned before painting. For structural galvanised iron, abrade with 240# paper to remove chemical treatments and allow full adhesion.

Cement Render/Concrete - Allow concrete, cement render and mortar to cure for 28 days before painting.

Steel - Remove rust and prime with Taubmans Prep Right Iron and Steel Primer of White Knight Metal Primer.

Coats Apply two liberal coats by brush, roller or spray. Do not overspread. Keep brushes and rollers working freely by rinsing occasionally in clean water.
Clean Up Water, away from drains.
Coverage Up to 16m²/litre, depending on nature of surface. Coverage will be lower on rough or absorbent surfaces.
Recoat Recoat after 2 hours at 25°C (allow 4 hours to cool in humid areas)
Stirring Stir paint with a 25mm wide flat stirrer in a circular lifting motion for at least 5 minutes before use.
Temperature

Do not use at temperatures below 10°C, above 35°C or when humidity is excessive.
