Engineered to endure™
Drop sheets are great for covering up flooring, decking, paving and furniture to protect them from drips. Get a lot of drop cloth, more than you think you will require, as it will move around while you paint and you need to ensure that the floor is protected at all times.
Good ideas include taping the drop sheet to the edges of what you can so that it remains relatively steady, protecting carpet with cloth drop sheets heavy enough to not need taping down, and avoiding plastic on floors as it can be slippery. Also slippery are tiles and timber floors and these should be covered with old rubber-backed carpet – check second-hand carpet stores for cheap off cuts.
Furniture that you don’t move out of the room will need to be wrapped, remove light fixtures if you can and also cover doors and door openings. With the furniture that can’t be moved, stack it in the centre with upholstered chairs upside-down on the sofa, and cover with plastic sheets and cardboard, taping them down. Another tip is to cover dining and coffee tables with cardboard, then wrap the legs with plastic.
