Tips on painting the perfect nursery

You want this space to be the perfect beginning for your little one and don’t worry Taubmans is here to help!

Selecting the perfect palette

It is not only important that you pick a colour you love, but one your baby will love as well. Don’t be afraid to use colour, but remember to steer away from colours that are too over stimulating for your new born like reds. We suggest whites, soft greys, gentle stones or calming pastels are the best tone to use in this space.

Picking the right shade

Once you have picked the palette it’s time to narrow down to the exact shade. The best way to do this is to pick up some colour chips from our Taubmans Colour Wall in store. Once you have your top few selections, purchase a Taubmans Sample pot to test these colours on the wall in your nursery. Live with the colours for a few days to see how they look in different natural and artificial light, and see which one stands out as your favourite.

Choosing the essential paint

It can be overwhelming working out what product you need, so we want to keep it simple! For your new baby’s room, we recommend Taubmans Endure Interior Walls in a matt or low sheen finish. Providing superior washability, low VOC, low odour and an anti-bacterial barrier, it’s the perfect choice for your nursery. It also inhibits mould and mildew and is asthma and allergy friendly; providing the ultimate protection for your little one. If you’re on a tighter budget, then Taubmans EasyCoat is an awesome alternative, with the added protection of Microban® to keep away germs.

Preparing and painting the walls
