If possible, remove the door from its hinges. If not, you can work around it as shown in the video.
Protect the area: Lay drop cloths at the base and tape around glass panels, handles, locks or nearby trims.
Clean thoroughly: Wash away dirt, dust and grease with mild detergent, then let dry.
Sand back worn areas: Smooth out flaking paint or glossy patches for better adhesion.
Prime where needed: Use Taubmans 3 in 1 Primer Sealer Undercoat on sections with visible wear and tear. It seals and primes those spots so your topcoat sticks and looks brand new.
Stir the paint thoroughly and pour into a tray.
Begin with the outer sections — edges and frame.
Work inward, covering larger panels with a roller.
If your door has grooves or decorative details, use a brush for those areas, then roll over flat sections for an even finish.
Allow the first coat to dry for around 2 hours.
Apply a second coat, again starting from the outside and working in.
Once dry, remove the painter’s tape and step back to admire your refreshed door.
Keep a steady pace to maintain a wet edge, preventing lap marks.
Use a good-quality roller and brush to reduce streaks.
Clean tools with water straight after use.
